ASTRID M. OBERT
PRODUCTION JOURNEYS
Four to six guests · By invitation
You have been
photographed.
You have never
been produced.
A crew, a stylist, hair and make-up, two cameras and a director — travelling to one place, for a handful of people, over five days. Astrid shoots. Riaan films. You are the only subject.
Munich · Cape Town · Tenerife · Mallorca. Roughly one departure a month.
The pair
Astrid shoots.
Riaan films.
A photographer who also does video is a compromise you can feel — one person switching bodies, half-covering both.
Two people working as a unit means the stills and the film are shot at the same time and on purpose, each for its own medium. You go home with a portrait set and a film, and neither one is an afterthought.
It is also what makes it a production rather than a shoot. The second angle, the direction, the sense of something being made around you — at this level that feeling is most of what you are buying.
The arc
Five days, written like a film.
Not an itinerary. Each guest gets their own production day, which is why the group never goes beyond six.
Arrival
Met at the airport, driven in, the first sight of the location. It becomes a production the moment someone is waiting for you.
Consultation & styling
Wardrobe, direction, what this is for. The conversation where the nerves go and the idea gets sharp.
Production day
Full crew, chosen locations, hair and make-up through the day. Stills and film shot in parallel — one day, entirely yours.
The reveal
Dinner, and the first edit seen together. The moment people describe to their friends afterwards.
Departure & delivery
Transfer out. Then the gallery, the film, and weeks later the printed book that outlives all of it.
What you choose
Build your own trip.
Fly in and take everything, or live there already and take only the production and the dinner. One thing is required; the rest is yours to decide.
The production day
RequiredFull crew, your locations, direction throughout. The one thing everybody takes.
Styling & consultation
Wardrobe worked through before you travel, not the night before.
Hair & make-up
A named artist with you through the day, keeping every frame consistent.
The film
Riaan shoots a cinematic piece alongside the stills. Not a by-product — its own medium.
The reveal dinner
The table, the first edit, and a partner welcome to join you.
Accommodation & transfers
PartnerHeld for the group by our travel partner, who you book with directly.
Flights
PartnerA negotiated fare we point you at. You book it yourself, in your own name.
The artefact
A bound archival book and a large print, chosen from your own edit after you're home.
Travel is arranged through our partner agency and booked in your own name. We produce the journey; they carry the travel — which keeps your booking protected by the people whose job that is.
Departures
Where we are going.
The first departure is by invitation. Register and you will have the dates, the full itinerary and the prices before they are public.
March 2027
Cape Town
Atlantic light, mountain and ocean inside twenty minutes, and the longest golden hour of the year.
June 2027
Tenerife
Volcanic black, white architecture and a coastline that reads as three different countries.
September 2027
Mallorca
Stone, olive and sea. The quiet one — closest to home and the least like home.
Six people a month
get to do this.
The full offer has the itinerary day by day, every module with its price, and the dates still open. It takes a name and an email.
